Alisa is a great writer with a sense of humor to boot. I love reading her pieces and she is constantly collaborating with other writers. I can’t wait for her novel, Ellery Allbright Goes Dark. to come out! Please enjoy our written and video interview/podcast below!

Alisa is such a force of good! So glad you spent time with her to mine that wisdom ore of hers. I especially appreciated her emphasis on the importance of questioning the narrative we’ve been fed, and choosing how to write our own. I’d love to hear more about how Alisa’s narrative evolves living with epilepsy. (I have her book Gotham Girl on my kindle queued up to read just as soon as I finish another one of her recommendations.) And p.s thanks for the mention Alisa!

Between Youth and Crone is THE EMPRESS & Alisa Kennedy Jones
Happy Birthday, Dad! ❤️ Wishing you the happiest and healthiest! I love you. Onward. Self check-in: I’ve been feeling pretty scatter brained lately (all the time?). My attention span is teeny tiny. My thoughts are ping ponging all over the place. The good news is that I shook off

Conversation is so important. It’s got to be tough to be a true journalist these days — which means being objective. I admire Meaghan. She’s a dying breed. Bari Weiss (also on Substack) is an objective journalist.

The Patch and HRT Responses from you!
But first… That 70s Thing — A new monthly series at WSG! It’s my birthday week — yes, week. I’m an only child, so, ya. But that’s not the point. The point is that having a birthday made me think about my childhood, which led me to think about what a funny (odd and humorous) time the 70s were to grow up. That led me to think about stuff from that era, and …
The Seasonal Closet shift and Marie Kondo’s disappointment in me.
I love writing fictional conversations, like between a mom and pile of clothing dumped on the floor by a kid, or here where I get a talking to by Marie Kondo the organizing consultant.

Who knew Marie Kondo could swear like a sailor?

My (imaginary) fight with Marie Kondo & Decrapping my closet
It’s spring, and that means it’s time to shift my cold-weather clothing to the top bar in my closet and bring the warmer-weather duds down (requiring a tall step ladder). I usually wait until my husband is out of the house overnight to do this because it’s a shit show in our room for a while … and, it shows how much stuff I have (bought). I also have st…
Traveling with a Daughter
If you are a mom who has travelled with a daughter, alone. You’ll enjoy this piece!!

This is so relatable lol. I spent 3 weeks with my youngest, 10 years old, accompanying her and 49 other youngsters to a choir festival with 9 other adults in Turkey and a few days in Russia and Latvia. At the time, I was the annoying mom, making sure she had brekkies and being at rehearsals on time (getting her out of bed on time was the biggest issue). Being in each other's company was great and also restrictive. However, now we look back, 10 years older, and most of it is remembered in rosy tones....the time we spent together, shared jokes… is a grand memory for us both (I hope. both, lol.)
