I've read a lot about the benefits of the cold water plunge, but I'm chilly most of the time so it sounds unbearable! Even with all my years of perimenopause symptoms, I can't say that I've had very many hot flashes to date 🥶

Susan, Read the articles I attached in my post. I think there is some good info about meno symptoms in general. Joint pain and mood swings stand out.

This morning, I actually tried it. Where I’m staying has a very long tub so I filled it with nearly cold water. Because I’m in a warm climate right now and the water out of the tap just isn’t that cold.

This was a nice way to try the whole Cold water, swim thing.

I am known to take between one and three (hot) tubs a day in the winter. So a cold tub while I was in cold Boston was not going to happen. But a luke warm/cold tub in a warm climate for three minutes up to my chin I could do this morning. Hurrah! And it was good.

So much goodness in this post! LOVE Bebe's new track and Camille's thoughts on Scandi Spring are a total dopamine hit. Not sure about the cold plunge because I am a perpetually cold girl, but ever since seeing all the women on "Bad Sisters" doing it... I've been curious about possibly doing it with a group as I thought it might make me feel more alive? (And perhaps, keep my midlife body from further decoupling, lol). x

And thank you for the comment on the girls’ work! Yes they are growing up and doing some interesting things. The blogger is really going for it. So much digging into ideas and researching sources. Makes a mommy blogger proud 😍 And the singer is doing some great work! She did a song with Caamp that is truly beautiful called Used to This. Thank you, Alisa. ❤️

I’ll take a plunge with you... maybe your building pool is cold? Sometimes they are. Did you read the articles in my post? I like the second one that gives us permission to gently ease into the concept of a cold plunge. You start with the water tempid cold, but not freezing and the amount of time is very short. That’s my kind of thing. I actually did it this morning. But since I’m in a warm place, the cold water wasn’t too cold, but I did lie down in the tub with it up to my chin and I got the idea and it’s good. I think I may do it more often.!

Hmm... our pool is pretty darn pleasant, but you know... we could totally jump in the pool and then run out to the garden for the cold plunge part... and then (!) go next door to Batifol for $1 oysters and adaptogen mocktails? Could that be a menopause cure? 😂 Come over and we'll find out!

That’s it! You’ve solved menopause!! And what is this place called Batifol! I love oysters and mockcocktails. I’ll be over as soon as I conclude my parent world tour! T shirts available!

I can't wait to hear more about your parental world tour! Batifol is a wonderful French bistro with outdoor dining and amazing moules frites--basically right across the courtyard. https://www.batifolcambridge.com/

Thoughts on a cold plunge? I really want the feeling after the bath, it’s the feeling during the bath I’m afraid of. There is a tub near me now. Will I try it?

The odd thing about being alone on a trip with my parents is that it seems natural.

Like we just picked up where we left off when I was in school. Three years ago it would never have crossed my mind but this year, the kids are all busy, husband is with his mom and here I am, traveling open-faced sandwich era!

Have you gone away just you and your parents? Are you taking your parents on a trip without your kids or spouse?
