Old lady hair! What to do about it? I wrote a whole-ass piece about the subject a few years ago, "What are we doing with our hair?" Still haven't figured it out, though it's shorter than it's been in a long time (chin length) and bothering me less. Yours looks lovely!

Oh post that link to your piece here, Lisa! Thank you about the hair, yes for now looks less “given up” than it did before.

I’ll have to look into it but maybe I send your post out to mine with you as an author too (it shows at the top) and you do the same thing with mine and voila!

I love the increasing trend to embrace our natural hair color but I’m not there yet so my color continues to be manufactured. When it’s good I enjoy my hair and when it’s bad I can feel the effects in my confidence.

Ha! This puts a lot of pressure on my locks🤣 to perform but, happily, I’m over needing to always look good. Love how your beautiful hair turned out Kim and thanks for the invite to do your questionnaire.

I am DEFINITELY NOT ready for "natural" locks. Yick...did you see mine? No bueno. SO, grace to your's...look at the French ladies...they pull off the red hugh well, but how?

Fingers crossed that back of head delineation line doesn't come back after the first wash...

And...YES, please have a go at the Maven5Q!

Oh, no...which thing is stressing you out to that degree (this week)? AS a beauty Maven we must sort this out ASAP...and you are a beauty so don't stress about that...

Ack, the highs and lows of hair!!! To go gray or to keep it away? During the pandemic I got purdy darn good at cutting and coloring my own hair ... saved a TON of money ... but I never attempted lightening or highlights because I feared going orange or frying my hair off altogether. At one point I tried to commit to "going gray" and just let all my old box color fade out and let the gray move in. But at that point I was just gray in this one section at the front of my head on one side - think bride of Frankenstein - and after a while it started to make me feel ... well .. old. ☹️

I get highlights and or lowlights every three months or so now. It's crazy expensive, but it's one of the few luxuries I allow myself. No guilt for me! I'm also happy to report that after a year and half of distressingly noticeable hair loss at my temples, things are finally starting to fill back in a bit. It's hard to deny how important hair is to our general sense of I-got-it-togetherness. It always makes me feel more confident when my hair is fabulous - even if the rest of me is crumbling. 😜

Your new do looks amazing by the way! Enjoy your new active lifestyle with your new HAIR! 🥂

P.S. Is the Maven5Q the interview you mentioned in my comments recently? I'd love to give it a shot!

Yes! Please give the 5Q a shot… it’s a fun exercise and I love both reading and sharing them…as for hair:

How did you deal with your hair loss? I think a lot of ladies have this issue though I haven’t heard of it on the temples…. But then, who talks about it regularly? As for the color… we neeeed a little, right?

My thinning probably isn't as serious as it feels to me. I see a lot of women out in the world who have lost a significant amount of hair, and I feel a bit ashamed of my vanity when I do. I found a homeopathic treatment I like very much ...

https://www.camillerose.com/products/rejuva-drops-come-back?srsltid=AfmBOoo6OT6mJQGzjVM55XK9Cl-9YcPt125McSCil6yDC2hzbj_XtNLD

but I'm not convinced it's what brought my hair back. I actually think it was the dramatic decrease in STRESS and ANXIETY I've experienced since being on an SSRI that did it. Either way, I'm still using my magic drops because they feel nice and it's become like my daily spa ritual. ☺️

No shame in wanting to look good...YES! I do think stress and anxiety, especially in all caps, very much affect one's hair. AND, SSRIs are a gift to the peri-post meno midlife women in so many ways.

Thank you for the link to the treatment for thinning hair. Never know what works for whom!

It looks awesome!!! I struggle with this - I dye my hair every 8 weeks to avoid the ugly weird-textured white hairs that are sprouting up all over my head. It costs $150-$200 every time. I pay for this out of my "allowance" - an agreed upon amount of money my husband and I both receive at the beginning of the year to spend on whatever we want. But WTF? He has no hair left and now spends NO money on his hair. This is the pink tax right? I recently made him start paying for my bikini waxes since why should I suffer physically AND financially? Now, I think he should pay for my hair care too since I'm really only trying to remain appealing to him. But I also do it for me because no one wants to be frumpy. LOL. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Kim!

Does he have any primpy expenses? And yes...no pink tax! Lord do we have expenses or what?! Keep doing your hair. I am here to tell you that we cannot look like my hair did in that video...worth every penny as a commenter said...but she didn't know what it cost :)
