Loved this interview with Beth!! Love the advice: save everything I’ve written. And the Sony Walkman!!! Please bring it back!

Thanks! I’ve thought about buying one online but the fact of the matter is then you are having to buy cassettes and while those are available they aren’t cranked out for new music! Sadly, those Walkman players were of their time and place. I bought a Disc man a few years back to play my Alanis Morrisette cd from the 90s and listened a few times.

I loved that the Walkman was yellow. Made it that much cooler!!

Great advice. I wish I wrote little snippets about my day. The memory is not always reliable.

This is good advice…guess we should down load all our substacks

Love this so much! 💞

There is never enough time! And why is it suddenly moving so fast?? It's hard not to think about our creative ideas without that "is there time?" lens. Just just the practical time in the day lens, but the time in our LIFE phase!!! 💔

Beth, you're so lovely and so passionate about what you do. I envy how confidently you're sharing all of your talents with us here while still crushing it at your off-the-page career and being a supermom. Bravo, friend!!! 💜🥂💐

What a wonderful note, Meg❤️

Thank you so much for these kind words Meg! And for taking time to know me and my daily life (which hardly looks polished) but it’s the real gritty life stuff. It also explains why on days like today I just need to veg out a bit.

Wonderful interview. Inspirational. Love the line about keeping a journal and not knowing the ending. It's onwards and upwards for you, Beth!

Hi Kim, Hi Beth,

What a lovely interview! I would also love to have a Sony Walkman… or a Disc man as we have so many CDs.

Yes, time has the zoomies, but maybe if we tried to slow down a little and spend more time observing, time might slow a little? It’s like when you’re on holiday and the first few days seem all languid and lovely because we’re in observation and sensual mode, and then we her used to our surroundings and voilà! The zoomies are back!

Beth, I hope you know how clever you are, and how much I admire your talent to go beyond the surface of films and series, and your ability to expand on what most of us see. Your reviews are wonderful.

Big hugs,

Francesca xx

Wonderful interview! You know yourself well, Beth. Most are not so self aware. I love that you cherish alone time even if it’s going to a movie alone. 🥰👏❤️😘
