The Jack-Jack metaphor is perfect. One minute your existing peacefully and the next moment you're drenched in sweat and burning up. It's surely some kind of cruel joke being played on women in midlife. (As if we don't have enough to deal with at this age.) Love Dr. Bartos - she is the best!

I'm so sorry you're in the flash zone! I was miserable before HRT, but not everyone's a candidate. Fortunately, the a new non-hormonal FDA-med that Dr. B works with (https://www.veozah.com/) is getting great feedback in the advocacy community. Sometimes just cutting sugar, alcohol, and nightshades is enough--but I still find it so amazing how "bespoke" women are! Was wonderful to be a part of your zoom chat!

Good news! The hot flashes decrease with age. I am not a candidate for HRTs. Hope you feel better soon. Love the Jack Jack comparison.

That IS great news CK. I find the flashes come and go. I went off all sugar and alcohol for a few weeks to see what would happen and it wasn’t much. Still had them at times. I do think they trigger flashes though. I don’t feel overrun by them and I thinks it’s odd how they stop and start. And yes Jack Jack really illustrates the power of a hot flash I think. Finally, what a gorgeous wedding your family just had! Congrats to you!
