I got here via this Homeworthy episode on your beautiful home. I was captivated the whole time, enjoying your story and the art hung in your home (I especially loved your whimsical French ceramic vases). As an empty nester trying to navigate my next chapter as an artist, I was intrigued and looked up WSG to find a great source of inspiration to pursue this artistic journey in my 60s. Thank you for providing a place of excitement and hope for this stage of life.
Nadie you are in the right place! Thank you for coming! We are all around the same age with the same stuff going on: parent care, young adult kids, pets, retiring, moving, decluttering (de-crapping), and lacking a moral schedule like we had and trying to figure out how to create one...that's what I, personally, think about a lot! We can learn from each other...so glad you're here!
And I’ve been in warm sunshine all day, hanging out with some lovely women I’ve met here at the wellness clinic in Spain. We are all beyond middle age, wonky, but wonderful!
Hi Nadie, I also loved Kim’s video; her home is just gorgeous, full of personality with the beautiful paintings and special pieces from her grandmother! And yes, we are all on our journey, trying to figure it out, connecting with each other. I love it.
You guys are so kind! I feel so safe and understood by the Homeworthy ladies! Truly...you really can't predict how something will be perceived..it was a risk and I am glad I took it! Thank you, Francesca!
Here are two of the pieces I am working on: What my mother told me and Reevaluating what I am doing with my time
I will also publish another Maven 5Q ....
And when Homeworthy gets around to it I'll publish some clips on instagram...
Meanwhile...I am sitting here wishing I would leave my house and go for a walk but it so damn cold out!!!
Kim! Your house is so beautiful and inspiring! I also love color and love seeing how other people incorporate it into their homes. Pink is one of my favorite colors and I always use it in my office-studio. It’s just so cozy and cheerful (and I think it makes my complexion look great!). I seriously feel inspired since watching it and will be puttering around the house all day rearranging and hopefully motivating myself to repaint (we moved into a house with all light gray paint and I think it might be contributing to my SAD this year!)
Thank you SC! I love Pink too, as you can see :) I just got off the phone with my friend who came into my house and rearranged my copious amounts of stuff and made it all look so effortless...she's got talent. I'm trying to get her to start a business. we could all use a refresh! You must jettison the gray! White Dove Ben Moore is warm and a great place to start!
So happy to have discovered you via Homeworthy. I loved how real you were while giving your tour...your enthusiasm is infectious. Visited Boston almost two years ago and adored Beacon Hill!
Thank you, Julie! I’m so beyond amazed at the reach Homeworthy has. It has really invigorated my thoughts on my blog and what I want for the women who are reading it. Community is the first word that comes to mind…Where are you from, Julie?
Love the episode. I commented there but will repeat here how much I love that you are true to your personal design style and have created a space filled with joy, family and inspiration.

That sounds so nice compared to the gloomy, cold spring of Vermont! Enjoy the sun and good company!
What kind of wellness clinic? That sounds relaxing and wonderful to meet new friends!

Love White Dove. I have it all over my house!
Isn’t it the best?! Can you imagine we all used Linen White?!

I'm in Kansas City! 61 years old and a wife, mom of 2, and now a grandmother to one adorable granddaughter. I've been a blogger since 2006.
That sounds like a perfect resume, Julie! I will check out your blog!!! That's a really long time. Good for you!!

Thank you, CK! I do love to decorate and did it professionally for eight years. My mom and grandmother were also big into it...it's hereditary! Hahah.
You got good genes. I also liked your jeans in the episode. 😃
Ah, yes...old Mother Jeans...rather than old mother jeans...
You and your house are simply stunning, Kim!
Loved this showcase for you, your art, and your homestead. 💜💜💜
Thank you, Meg! I love to move the art around, too..ad to collect other female artists...
