Hi Kim, thank you for hosting these eldercare stories. May I share a link to this series on Carer Mentor: Empathy and Inspiration, my website publication?
In 2015 I took medical leave from my job in Brussels to help my Mum care for my Dad in the UK, returned to work, then resigned in 2017. It was a 'big' corporate role that resigned from with my head-heart-gut aligned. Dad passed Jan 2020, and 16 days later we pivoted to Mum's cancer treatment. All to say, every eldercare experience is unique and caregiver experiences are so diverse that I'd love to see many more stories appear in your series here.
I'm based in the UK and connect with carers online via two forums. The stories you've shared echo many I've read, with the main exception being a significant lack of social care resources (people and money) here, and end-of-life/hospice care is limited. Care homes/respite or rehab centres are what we call a postcode lottery in terms of their availability and quality.
Aw, thanks, Kim. I was actually meaning that I'd like to link to your Eldercare series from my publication website. I appreciate your generosity and invitation. Thank you.
Katy Wheatley's responses to the Maven 5Q are a great read.
I've a lot on my plate right now. It may take me a while to get back to you. I'm updating the Carer Mentor anthologies.

Thank you for commenting Victoria. You can absolutely post here, but I have a better idea. Would you like to participate in the maven 5 questions?
At the beginning, I have a bio and you can put a link or two I post one a week. I will include the questions for you in the next text.
