thank you for jumping through the hoops to comment, DJ and Diana! I hear you have to "sign in" first to make a comment or sign up to comment...that is so people cannot leave anonymously is my guess...
I am going to try and make an effort to visit more of the Historic New England registered sites. The Sleeper McCann house is tops on my list when it opens for the season.. Everyone raves about it.
Topics: This is a tough one. Why has homelessness become such a challenge in certain cities? I understand the issue of mental illness, drug abuse, alcoholism, lack of support systems that lead to homelessness but how do city and state officials best handle the problem? I would be really interested in hearing about what I or anybody could do to help?
HI! I interviewed Jennifer Hanlon a while back and she is head of the Women's Lunch Place on Newbury Street...we all should be volunteering there...that is a start...
I would love to gather again for coffee- the last one could have gone in for several more hours and it still feels novel to be able to gather in person. Loved the profile of Laura Barkan- her Instagram helps me remember to keep exploring Boston…. There is no better city to be in as spring arrives- the trees along the Esplanade exploding w blossoms and the streets and parks full of energy.
I enjoyed reading about Laura Barkan and her Uncommonwealth business! I always love to find unique and local activities and restaurants when we travel…
Beacon Hill has some amazing public garden and house tours
April- Beacon Hill Village Kitchen Tour /virtual this year
May- Beacon Hill Garden Club (third Thursday of every May)
December- Nichols House Holiday House Tour
Restaurant: 1928 on Mt Vernon Street
Hotel: The Whitney with onsite restaurant Peregrine
I think one of the biggest challenges when traveling with a group is sharing editable itineraries…someone recently recommended Tripit…I have not tried it yet- wondering if anyone has or has other ideas ?
Hi Diana - Thank you for your comment and these suggestions! All wonderful. For an interactive itinerary tool, you could try Axus. I don't use it often, but people like it.
I definitely miss the coffee although April has been a busy month. I still think you should interview my friend who turned her passion for flowers in a successful stationery line while raising 4 boys
