And so it begins. The adrenaline starts to pump. Holy Sh_t. We just had Thanksgiving. Do you know what that means? You have two weeks, at best, to order anything on line. So let’s get it together, people. Remember it’s not the cost of the gift, it’s the other parts. Is it useful? Is it fun? Pretty? Tasty? Creative? Surprising? Thoughtful? You can get someone a nice olive oil for not a lot. This list, like my brain, is all over the place this year. I have a lot going on.
Do you know any art lovers?
I have mentioned that I paint, www.kimdrukerstockwell.com. I’ve even gone on and on about the process and the pain and suffering of making art.
Lately I am doing Floral Bursts. They are jubilant, happy, organic and colorful. We can all use a little art for art’s sake.
There is a marvelous open studio in Boston in the SOWA district Link. There are beer trucks involved! It’s an old industrial loft building full of hundreds of artists. There is also an affiliated shopping experience down a block in a huge former electrical plant. They have food trucks and drinks and shopping. Click the link above for details.
My studio is open (450 Harrison Ave Boston, 412b) and the hours are quite something. Like 10am-10pm on the weekends and 4-9 weds, thurs (I won’t be there ALL the time but a LOT of it). So, stop by and see me! I have lots of handy gift ideas at every price point ($6 to $6700). Or, check out these cool note cards I create using Moo (stationary). LINK to shop
But enough self promotion.
I have been gathering some ideas for you over the past month. I will say, Lolly’s List is really great for the preppy chic gift giver. Prices vary but you can find some great ideas for as much or as little as you like.
IF YOU WANT TO SEND ME IDEAS for another list…email me womenssurvivalguide@gmail.com I’ll post them next week! or, maybe I’ll get it together and do it on instagram.
Second Annual Holiday Gift Guide!
Omaha Steaks…not just steaks! link
I know this seems super cheesy and kind of weird. The thought process of “hey, let’s send a friend some meat!” Just isn’t kosher (unless it is). But! don’t be fooled! My mom and step dad send these to me and I like them! In fact, it’s pretty great to be able to pop a piece of steak or meal into the oven from your freezer. There are some very good other options. They have fish, chicken, sides and deserts. And wine, apparently. Moo-yah!.
Palladium Boots. Leave it to the French to look sexy at war. Very Chic for the whole family! Cheap-enough, too! Link
Table top Solo Stove! This is on all the shopping lists this year and I am not sure I’d want one. Better to get the big one for the driveway. I have a feeling everyone is getting one of these this year. Link
Anthropologie: This store has some serious stuff this year! Check out their shoes! Who knew? Remember when Banana Republic was really good in the early 90s? Maybe this is like that. I bought this clutch (my friend Diana sent it as an idea) to “check it out” and now it’s $30 less! Comes in a ton of colors. I got the metallic purple. Gold is sold out. Makes it a great gift for in-laws, siblings, kids.

Cleod Glass Works. This place has gorgeous stuff and is affordable! Link
Liberty of London Women’s and Men’s Advent Beauty Calendar. Is it expensive? Hell, yes! So expensive. But is it so fun? So Fun!! I mean, you never know what is going to be in the little cubby. I am actually using the one I bought last year, this year with things I find. I’m not sure who I am doing it do as the kids are away, hubby won’t care and dog just wants food. Link
Mark and Graham Travel jewelry box! How adorable is this? It comes in a lot of colors and is only $44! This company has so many things you didn’t know you needed! Link
LLBean! These seem like a good idea for those of us in the cold climate. Below I have the shearling shoe inserts. Not very romantic or glamorous but what says love like ‘I want you to have warm feet”? Link
Grisgris Cocktail Syrups are quite something! A friend of mine says: “couple a bottle with a favorite tequila as a super Holiday gift!” I agree! Link
For the pets! Dog beds, also fro Mark and Graham but sent as an idea from a different person. Popular site! Link
Stitch and Tickle! These bags are fantastic. Here is the popular cross body/fanny pack. Personally, I prefer their larger bags. Check out their web site for some greta gift giving!! https://www.stitchandtickle.com
That’s all for now. I will continue to add to the list as cool things come up or from you!!
