The hustle bustle of school starting. I remember those frustrations from kids forgetting to —sign up for soccer and oh it’s too late— BTW back to school night is tonite— etc.

Back to School Night..just those words brought a slight wave of nausea caused by the anxiety of seeing so many hyper competitive parents in one place on one night...I loved the set schedule of school but was always a little intimidated by group events. Now, I can happily choose when I expose myself to groups of people. By expose I do not mean flashing or streaking. That would be a problem these days for all involved. thank you for chiming in CK!

The quiet around the house was wildly unnerving. I kept 'accidentally' mothering randos and people were like, "Excuse me, are you oK?"

Ha! Well, that's what I do to my dog, I guess. And to anyone under 40. But, I find that kids come back a lot more than I thought and at unexpected times which means I never know if can keep a plan I made which in itself is a problem. I like a schedule and structure esp one created by someone else's so I have to adhere to it.
