Labor.
Some people hear the word “labor” and think “work.” And, some people hear the word “labor” and think…AAAAAHHHHHHHHOOOWWWWWWWWWahh!! Ow. Either way it’s work, I guess. It’s probably TOTALLY inappropriate for me to even talk about labor pains but, there you are.
Well, since you asked. Yes, I have experienced labor pains but only during one of my kids’ births. (you didn’t ask, you say? Oh. Well. Just figured since you brought it up.) They were head-board banging and sharp, the labor pains. I kept thinking I had reached that ‘Baby Time!’ moment and would rush to the hospital and the doctor would rummage around “up there” and say “nah, go home.” This was for three days. (You didn’t bring this up? well. I thought you did. Now that you are here I might as well finish the story). I’d go into labor only at night. Like some sick terrible curse, the labor pains would start when the sun went down. We’d scamper over to Mass General and get put in a room and around 4 Am they’d say….go home, no baby today. (You really don’t want me to finish the story? But I’m getting to the good part.) Then finally, the blessed event happened and we brought home a nine pound baby girl who was two weeks late and a lot bigger than they thought she was. That’s my labor story. (See, I was nearly done and I am so glad you asked!) Do you have one? A labor (Day) story? It can be about work, too.
Here is last week’s post which I thought people would get more excited about. It’s got 4 (four) cool recipes in it and some wholesome personal stories that do not even mention the words “labor” or “pains.”
I am putting it in again in case you meant to read it and write lots of comments and forward to friends and put it on your social media.
That’s all for now…
