How does she look so good? Ask Cindy from Beyond50Skin!
The latest in over 50 skin care with Beyond50Skin's guidance
Beyond50Skin and Cindy Sterling:
Every picture tells a story, don’t it (Rod Stewart)? The pictures of Cindy Sterling above tell the story of a woman who looked in the mirror at age 50, did not like what she saw and took action. “How had it come to this?” she thought. The age spots, the smoker’s lines (despite never smoking), the hollowing under her eyes. Not to mention the “angry 11s” between her eyebrows and the labial folds on the side of her mouth. The effects of aging and menopause were undeniable. Little did she know then that she was at the beginning of a seven-year self-care journey and a new chapter as a “mature beauty content creator” and business owner (Beyond50Skin).
Cindy is not against aging. On the contrary, she is happy to look her age, but at her best. She wants to age intentionally, and to do that, Cindy tells us we need a plan, a budget, and to research providers and procedures before we do anything. The first question to ask yourself? What’s bothering you about your visage? The rest of the process flows from there. Cindy has a video that takes us through every step of her seven-year journey on her YouTube Channel that is a must-watch for those who are considering facial rejuvenation.
The first question to ask yourself?
What’s bothering you about your visage?
Soon after seeing herself in the mirror that day, Cindy’s older sister came for a visit, and she noticed how great her sister looked. Cindy asked what she was doing for her skin, and her sister told her about Tretinoin and finding a good cosmetic dermatologist. FYI, You need a prescription to get Tretinoin and you need guidance to use it safely. Cindy had never heard of either but set about educating herself. At the time, Cindy was an empty nester and, in general, had been a stay-at-home mom of two boys. Her husband’s work had them moving around, and she kept busy with a number of different jobs over the years, including cosmetology. The timing was perfect for a new challenge.
There was a lot to learn on her facial rejuvenation journey including a new language of terms she grew to know firsthand, like Botox, Dermal fillers, PRF, Laser resurfacing, Microneedling, Microdermabrasion, Chemical peels, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy, Thread lifts and hundreds of products and devices. She always does her homework on a new product or procedure she is trying, but the outcomes are not always as expected. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are awful, but she always films herself before during and after a product trial or procedure, and we benefit from her experiences. If there is any procedure you are considering, I’ll bet Cindy knows all about it and has a tell-all video at Beyond50Skin.
“It’s never too late to start something new!
“I went back to graduate school in my 40’s. And when I woke up one morning in my early 50’s to find my reflection had turned from peach to prune I took ACTION. I hit the books once again to learn all I could about the latest in good skin health.” — Cindy Sterling
MAVEN OF THE WEEK: CINDY STERLING!
Cindy’s videos are entertaining and informative. I enjoy her candor and honesty in each one. It takes guts to put yourself out there the way she does. Her goal is to provide the information necessary for all of us to start our own skin rejuvenation journey if we choose to and to take the shame out of cosmetic dermatology. Cindy works incredibly hard and is a company of one, for now. The thing about these online businesses is that every waking moment is a moment to be working on something related to the business. Coming up with subjects to investigate, researching, getting in touch with providers, doctors, cosmetics companies, managing products, getting product discounts, filming, editing, writing, responding to hundreds of DMs and emails, creating a content calendar, posting on all media, having the latest products, devices and procedures herself. It’s a lot of work, and I am grateful to her for educating all of us!! Please welcome, Cindy Sterling!
